Medical Receptionist

About the role

This is a part-time or casual role, requiring approximately 2 days a week – 16 hours (flexibility with days required) plus availability to cover leave as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and visitors to ORLHNS in a warm and professional manner.

• Answer incoming phone calls.

• Schedule appointments for patients and coordinate availability with medical professionals.

• Maintain accurate and organized patient records using computer systems or specialized software.

• Respond to patient inquiries, provide information about our services, and address any concerns or requests they may have.

• Provide general administrative support, including sorting mail, managing office supplies, and performing other clerical tasks as needed.

• Ensure the reception area is clean, presentable, and welcoming to visitors.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and a positive client experience.

About you

• Willingness to learn, and enthusiastic, professional and friendly demeanour is a must.

• VCE or TAFE diploma.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide outstanding customer service.

• Proficiency in using computers and basic office software (training will be provided for Xestro).

• Organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in medical reception is highly regarded.

• Previous experience in a customer service role.
