About the role

Join our Community Relations team and play a key role in delivering venue hire options to external customers while also supporting the school's internal staff in managing bookings and logistics for their events outside of the normal school day. 

This full-time, continuing role is responsible for coordinating venue hire and events across our beautiful inner-city campus. From the first enquiry through to event delivery, you will work closely with clients, suppliers and school stakeholders to create seamless experiences that strengthen the School's reputation and community connections. 

Whether coordinating weddings, community events, venue hire bookings or supporting school functions, no two days will be the same. This role is ideal for a highly organised and service-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering memorable experiences. Flexibility to support selected evening and weekend events during peak periods will be an important part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage venue hire enquiries and bookings from initial enquiry through to event completion. 
  • Coordinate event logistics including venue setup, catering, security, audio-visual requirements, contracts and client communications. 
  • Conduct venue tours and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and community stakeholders. 
  • Oversee the preparation of event documentation including run sheets, floor plans, contracts and risk assessments. 
  • Support the successful delivery of events and venue operations across the School campus. 
  • Liaise with School Facilities and Operations staff to ensure venue bookings are carefully managed.

Role Requirements

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Outstanding organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Initiative, problem-solving ability and confidence working independently while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Experience coordinating events preferable but not essential.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications and digital systems.
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
  • Approval to work in Australia.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education in the Mercy tradition.
