The role
 
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this newly created Senior Accountant position will take ownership of key accounting functions while supporting broader planning, analysis and commercial decision-making.
 
The role offers an attractive balance between technical accounting and FP&A. You will help ensure the integrity of financial reporting, maintain a strong financial-control environment and provide analysis that helps operational and executive stakeholders understand business performance.
 
You will also gain exposure to staff management and mentoring, with the opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibility as the position develops.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing month-end and year-end accounting activities across a multi-site environment
• Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Supporting budgets, forecasts, cash-flow planning and performance reporting
• Analysing results, investigating variances and translating financial information into meaningful business insights
• Improving existing accounting processes, reporting tools and financial controls
• Partnering with operational and finance stakeholders across the organisation
• Supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of the finance team

About you
 
You will be a technically capable accountant who enjoys taking ownership but also wants to broaden your exposure beyond traditional financial reporting. You are commercially curious, comfortable working with stakeholders and motivated by the opportunity to improve existing processes.
 
You will ideally bring:

• CA or CPA qualification, ideally with a chartered background 
• Strong financial and management accounting experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls and statutory reporting requirements
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis or broader FP&A 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify the story behind the numbers
• Confidence communicating with finance and non-finance stakeholders
• An improvement-focused mindset and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment
• Previous mentoring or supervisory experience, or the ambition to develop as a people leader
• Open to first movers from assistant manager level
