This is a hands-on EPM Developer (IBM TM1) role within an applications managed services team, responsible for the ongoing support, enhancement, and optimisation of a critical IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) environment. You will act as a key technical owner for TM1, providing L2/L3 support, maintaining and improving models and TI processes, and delivering PAW/PAX reports that underpin budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. The role offers exposure to a broader data and analytics landscape, including EDW, Cognos, Power BI, and Snowflake, while allowing you to specialise in the IBM stack and make a visible impact on finance and planning operations.

What you’ll do
  • Provide L2/L3 application support for the IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) environment, including incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis for production issues.
  • Maintain and enhance existing TM1 models, cubes, dimensions, rules, feeders, and TurboIntegrator (TI) processes to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
  • Develop and maintain Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX/PAfE) reports, dashboards, and input templates in line with business requirements.
  • Execute and support scheduled data loads, integrations, and ETL processes between TM1 and source/target systems (e.g., ERP, data warehouse, flat files), ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimisation of TM1 models, TI processes, and server configurations to meet SLAs and improve responsiveness during peak planning periods.
  • Manage user access, security groups, and permissions within TM1 in accordance with governance and segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Participate in change management activities: assess change requests, design solutions, implement in lower environments, coordinate testing, and support production deployments.

What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience as a TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics developer or support engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong expertise in TM1 model design: cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, rules, feeders, and consolidation logic.
  • Advanced proficiency in TurboIntegrator (TI) scripting for data loads, transformations, and process automation.
  • Practical experience developing and maintaining PAW and PAX/PAfE reports, dashboards, and input templates for finance users.
  • Solid understanding of TM1 security model (users, groups, roles, cube/element-level security) and ability to implement and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Experience providing L2/L3 application support in a managed services model, including incident management, SLAs, and on-call or after-hours support as required.
