About the position:
The City is currently seeking an experienced ICT professional to join their dynamic team for a full-time, fixed-term opportunity over a 12-month period. If you're passionate about Information Communication Technology, then this is the opportunity for you!
This role provides leadership and support to a high-performing ICT team, coordinating the City’s Information and Technology operations and response to requests for assistance across hardware, software, telecommunications, cybersecurity and information management. You will maintain and improve systems and processes that enable effective ICT service delivery, while developing positive stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and the Council’s Record Keeping Plan.
Key accountabilities:
Develop, deliver and maintain an IT Service Management (ITSM) Strategy for the Branch, which reflects the direction of the ICT Strategic Plan and Cybersecurity Strategy.
Develop and deliver a business plan to support the effective use of resources for delivery of minor projects, initiatives, maintenance, and renewals; ensure operational responsibilities are performed in accordance with the Corporate Business Plan.
Lead, organise and direct the ICT Services teams, create an environment that motivates and provides a dynamic team culture focused on exemplary customer service and continuous improvement.
Maintain, continuously improve, and coordinate the operation of an ITIL aligned ICT service desk whilst ensuring complete and accurate information at all times. Apply means to address times of greater demand.
Provide strategic support to the Manager ICT Services in issues relating to Information, Communication, Technology and Cybersecurity.

Position requirements:
Candidates should have a degree in Information Technology, Diploma of Leadership & Management, an understanding of an ITIL service desk and experience in supervising a diverse team. In addition, demonstrated skills in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders is also an essential requirement of this position.
Applicants who have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and extensive experience in a similar role but do not have formal qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This position offers a salary starting from $131,687 per annum or $66.64 per hour, commensurate with the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.

Demonstrated extensive experience coordinating an ITIL aligned ICT Service Desk;

Experience in staff supervision and management of a diverse team, with experience of staff engagement through team mentoring / coaching;
Excellent communication skills to articulate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Proven experience in coordinating incident response and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement; and
Highly organised with a methodical and systematic approach to setting priorities and managing the time of self in the planning and organising of work.
