Working during the critical early-morning period, you will respond to inbound calls, manage roster changes, assist with unplanned absences and workforce gaps, and ensure clients and stakeholders are kept informed.

This role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, think practically, make confident decisions and find solutions when circumstances change at short notice.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee rosters, ensuring changes are communicated effectively to clients, employees and relevant stakeholders.

  • Update rostering systems to reflect approved changes, short-notice leave, employee availability and shift allocations.

  • Monitor staffing levels and identify roster gaps or potential workforce shortages.

  • Allocate shifts to appropriately skilled, qualified and available employees.

  • Source replacement staff for planned and unplanned absences.

  • Liaise with employees regarding shift availability, roster changes and shift confirmations.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to roster-related enquiries from employees, clients and stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date on-call logs, including actions taken and outcomes.

  • Prepare and maintain and send morning call-log reports as required.

  • Ensure rostering decisions are consistent with the SCHADS awards, enterprise agreements, legislation and organisational policies.

  • Work collaboratively and creatively to resolve staffing issues while maintaining continuity and quality of support.

About you

  • We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

    You will ideally have:

    • Previous experience in rostering, workforce coordination, disability services, community services or a similar role.

    • Knowledge of NDIS requirements relating to the delivery of supports, participant safety and risk.

    • A strong understanding of the SCHADS Award and the ability to interpret relevant award provisions.

    • Strong rostering and workforce coordination skills, including the ability to think outside the box when resolving staffing gaps.

    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Confidence communicating with employees, clients and organisational stakeholders.

    • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.

    • Confidence using rostering systems and other workplace technology.

    • The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

    • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to implement practical solutions.

    • A commitment to positive outcomes for clients, employees and partner organisations.

The successful applicant will be required to hold, or be eligible to obtain, relevant screening and compliance checks, including:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
