About the Role:

We are looking for a Patient Records Clerk to join our Finance department on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis, working a total of 15 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday, with the option to work either 2 x 7.5-hour days or 3 x 5-hour days, between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

The role will ensure that all Ambulance transports are processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify the correct debtor to receive an account for ambulance transport to ensure that each individual patient care record is charged to the person responsible for the ambulance transport invoice.
  • Review each patient care record to determine where billing is appropriate i.e. identifying sensitive cases.
  • Check patient care records for errors and omissions then input the correct information to ensure the accuracy of record information.
  • Input case sheet data into the database in a timely manner.
  • Reverse and recharge accounts rejected by debtors and correct any errors.
  • Resolve and respond to email queries relating to accounts as required.
  • Completed monthly invoicing to major debtors for example WA Police, Insurance Commission of WA and Metro and Country Hospitals.

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong administration and organisational skills with prior experience in a similar capacity being highly regarded but not essential.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to effectively manage exposure to distressing, sensitive, or emotionally challenging information, while maintaining professionalism, resilience, sound judgement, and high service standards.
  • Professional Compartmentalisation: the ability to separate work-related information and experiences from personal life while maintaining wellbeing and professional performance.
  • Objective Decision-Making: the ability to assess information impartially and process records accurately without being influenced by the circumstances surrounding an event.
  • A health and/or customer service background would be advantageous.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work autonomously and manage independent workload.
