Bicycle Retail & Ecommerce Sales Assistant

About the role

This is a hands-on customer service and sales role supporting riders both in our Prahran store and online through bikes.com.au. You will help customers choose the right bicycles, accessories, parts and services while delivering a friendly, knowledgeable and professional experience across every sales channel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store, by phone, by email and online with friendly, practical product advice.

• Recommend bicycles, accessories, parts and services that suit each customer's needs, budget and riding style.

• Support ecommerce sales through bikes.com.au, including online enquiries, product guidance and order-related support.

• Process in-store and online sales accurately using point-of-sale and ecommerce systems.

• Help maintain accurate product information, pricing, stock availability, and presentation across the store and online channels.

• Support stock management, including receiving goods, pricing products, monitoring inventory and keeping online stock information up to date.

• Contribute to sales goals by identifying customer needs, promoting relevant offers and providing confident, helpful recommendations.

• Work with the retail, workshop and online teams to deliver a smooth customer experience from enquiry to after-sales support.

About you

• You have retail, sales, hospitality, ecommerce, or customer service experience, ideally in a busy customer-facing environment.

• You enjoy helping customers and can communicate clearly in person, over the phone, by email and through online sales channels.

• You are confident using computers and willing to learn point-of-sale systems, ecommerce platforms and online customer service tools.

• You have strong attention to detail when handling orders, payments, customer information, pricing and stock records.

• You are reliable, punctual, organised and comfortable working as part of a team.

• You have a genuine interest in bicycles, cycling or active lifestyles and are willing to keep learning about products and customer needs.

• Bike industry experience, mechanical knowledge, or ecommerce sales experience is highly regarded, but not essential for the right person.
