Data Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our client's team on an inital 5-month contract in Melbourne.

You’ll be responsible for designing and developing reliable data pipelines, maintaining data models and supporting the delivery of high-quality data assets for reporting, analytics and business operations. You’ll work closely with Data, BI, Technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and deploy data pipelines and core datasets
• Build and maintain data models and data warehouse capabilities
• Develop and manage ELT/ETL processes, particularly using dbt
• Work with Snowflake to support data integration, reporting and analytics
• Monitor data processes and resolve operational and data quality issues
• Maintain clear documentation across pipelines, models and datasets
• Support data governance, security, access controls and PII protection
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions
• Provide technical input into the ongoing improvement of the data platform

About You:
You’ll have 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or technology, with strong hands-on capability across:

• SQL
• Snowflake
• DBT
• Data modelling
• ETL/ELT and data pipeline development
• Data platform design and integration
• Experience with Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Fivetran and Power BI will be highly regarded.

You’ll be a strong communicator who can work autonomously, manage competing priorities and translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. Attention to detail, a collaborative approach and a positive attitude are essential.
