Retail Assistant

About the role

We're looking for a friendly, reliable Retail Assistant to be the face of our Warehouse Outlet Shop. You'll welcome walk-in customers, help them find the right products from our Ecology, Porto and wider CWM ranges, and keep the store running smoothly day to day. It's a varied, hands-on role — alongside the shop floor, you'll spend part of each shift supporting our Customer Service team with Zendesk enquiries and Direct Freight queries from outlet customers, so you're never just standing behind a register.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting customers warmly and providing knowledgeable advice on our product ranges and brand stories

• Handling customer enquiries, offering recommendations and resolving basic issues on the spot

• Managing Zendesk / Eco Web enquiries from the outlet (approx. ½ hour per day) — order updates, refunds and tracking

• Assisting with Direct Freight delivery queries for outlet customers

• Processing sales accurately through the POS register, handling cash and EFTPOS, and reconciling at end of day

• Restocking shelves and displays, unpacking deliveries, and merchandising stock to brand standards

• Supporting stock counts and inventory checks as required

• Keeping the store clean, tidy and safe, and following opening/closing procedures

About you

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging with a wide range of customers

• High attention to detail and genuine pride in store presentation

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy

• Comfortable operating a POS system, or willing to learn quickly

• Willing to be trained on Zendesk and the Direct Freight portal

• Physically able to lift and move boxes up to approximately 10–15kg, and be on your feet for extended periods

• Previous retail, outlet or customer-facing experience (highly regarded)

• Experience with Zendesk or similar CRM/ticketing platforms (highly regarded)

• Background in homewares, consumer goods or retail environments (highly regarded)
