Casual Customer Service / Photo Booth Host — Automatica Photo

Automatica Photo is a photo booth destination in Burleigh Heads. Three booths, real prints, an ode to analog. We opened this year, the weekends have been busier than we planned for, and we're adding a casual staff member or two, to the team.

This is a casual role, hourly plus loading. Shifts are mostly weekends/nights, plus some weekday cover, school holidays, and the occasional event or after-hours booking. If you want the same hours locked in every week forever, this isn't that. If you want good shifts in a very good room, and more of them when we're busy, keep reading.

What you'll actually do

• Open, run and close the venue. Keep booths stocked, prints flowing, space immaculate.

• Look after customers. First-timers who need a nudge, regulars who know the drill.

• Keep three booths running. Paper and ribbon changes, clearing jams, restarting anything that sulks.

• Shoot the occasional bit of phone content. The space, the flash, the small human moments.

• Handle a Saturday queue without losing the plot.

• Pitch in on events and private bookings when they come up.

About you

You don't need photo booth experience. Almost nobody has photo booth experience. You do need:

• Weekend (including nights) availability. That's when the booth is busiest and it's non-negotiable.

• Customer-facing experience. Hospitality, retail, events, anywhere you were the person people dealt with, and good at it.

• Reliability. Casual means flexible, not unpredictable. If you take a shift, we need you there.

• Calm under pressure. A queue, a jammed print, and a birthday group all at once shouldn't rattle you.

• Tech literacy. Our booths are digital, our systems are digital, and you'll pick up new tools without a manual.

• An eye. You don't need to be a photographer, but you notice when something looks off, and you fix it before we ask.

Bonus points if you love film photography, analog culture, or have ever forced your friends into a photo booth on a night out.
