About the role
This is a rare opportunity to build and own the people and culture function for a whole organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be our senior human resource partner, setting the strategy, leading the day-to-day, and acting as a trusted, confidential sounding board to the CEO and executive team.
You will shape how we recruit, support, develop, and look after our people across multiple sites, and you will play a central part in building a positive, inclusive culture that reflects our values.
What you will do
Partner with and advise the CEO on people and culture strategy, and support the executive team.
Build, own, and continuously improve our human resources function from the ground up.
Lead day-to-day human resources administration, systems, and payroll, including our Employment Hero platform.
Interpret and apply modern awards, and ensure we meet our employment and compliance obligations.
Manage workers' compensation , and lead staff wellbeing initiatives.
Champion a positive, values driven culture and support our people across all of our sites.
What you will bring
Extensive, senior level, hands-on generalist human resources experience across the full employee lifecycle.
Confidence in interpreting and applying modern awards and employment legislation.
Strong experience with human resources and payroll technology, with experience with Employment Hero and XERO, is highly regarded.
Experience managing workers' compensation and advising on complex employee relations matters.
A genuine focus on wellbeing and culture, with sound judgement and discretion.
Ideally, experience building or maturing a human resources function, and working across the not-for-profit, community, or education sector.
