Principal Environmental Approvals
Perth CBD | Head Office | Standalone Role
Forrestania Resources Limited (ASX: FRS)

Forrestania Resources (ASX FRS) is a junior Gold company on an exciting growth trajectory — evolving from explorer to emerging gold producer with two gold hubs commencing soon (Edna May and Lake Johnston).
As we advance our project pipeline toward development and production, we're building the team and systems that will underpin safe, compliant and responsible operations across our Western Australian portfolio.

We're now seeking a Principal Environmental Approvals specialist to lead environmental strategy, compliance and approvals across the business. This is a standalone, head-office-based role for someone who thrives working autonomously and is comfortable being the sole in-house environmental expert, backed by some site visits and close collaboration with operational teams.

About the Role
Reporting in the interim to our Perth-based Technical Director, this role provides both strategic advice and hands-on support across all environmental matters.
This role is about building as we progress and being a subject matter expert to this lean senior management team.
You'll play a key role in maintaining our Environmental Management System (EMS), coordinating regulatory approvals, and ensuring compliance with environmental obligations throughout site operations — from exploration through to production.
This is a genuine opportunity to help shape environmental strategy and systems within a growing ASX-listed company, with visibility to senior leadership and real influence over how the business approaches environmental management as it scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare regulatory submissions and liaise with government agencies to secure and maintain environmental approvals
  • Provide advice and operational support on environmental matters across all projects
  • Lead EIA and regulatory approvals processes across exploration and operational projects under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act , Petroleum Pipelines Act , Mining Act , Environmental Protection Act (Parts IV & V), and EPBC Act.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance and stakeholder engagement across WA sites
  • Maintain and implement EMS standards, procedures, and mitigation strategies
  • Support environmental planning and compliance for ongoing mining operations
  • Conduct site inspections, monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with approvals, commitments, and company standards
  • Assist site teams with compliance, incident response, and corrective actions
  • Engage with local communities, shires, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to environmental budgets and reporting for senior management
  • Promote environmental awareness and adherence to site procedures
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • Solid experience in environmental approvals and compliance gained within mining, exploration or a related heavy industry setting
  • Sound working knowledge of WA environmental legislation, approvals processes and regulatory bodies (DWER, DMIRS and similar)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a broad portfolio of environmental responsibilities without close supervision
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience liaising confidently across government, community and internal site teams
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a track record of preparing clear, high-quality regulatory submissions and reports
  • A proactive, practical approach — comfortable moving between strategic advice and hands-on, on-the-ground support
  • Ability to work in a standalone role and in a role where we need to build as we progress through our evolvement as a mining organisation
Why Join Forrestania Resources

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing ASX-listed explorer at a pivotal point in its journey toward gold production. You'll have genuine ownership of the environmental function, direct exposure to senior leadership, and the chance to build systems and processes that will support the company well into production. Based in our Perth CBD head office, you'll enjoy the autonomy of a standalone role while remaining connected to site through regular visits and close working relationships with our operational teams.
If you're an environmental professional looking to step into a role with real autonomy, variety and impact, we'd love to hear from you.
