Senior Digital Transformation Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Digital Transformation Consultant to help clients solve meaningful business challenges through the practical application of technology, data and AI. This is a client-facing, billable consulting role for someone who combines strong communication, facilitation and analytical capability with the technical skills to shape, design and implement solutions. The role will also provide senior technology advisory capability and continuity alongside Solentive's Chief Technology Advisor.

At Solentive, technology expertise is fundamental to the role, but the tool is always in service of the client outcome. You must bring strong technical and implementation capability in either Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, Data and Analytics, AI and Automation, or a combination of these areas. You will apply that expertise to understand client needs, select and shape the right solution, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

You will work across the full client lifecycle, from discovery and opportunity shaping through strategic advisory, solution design, estimation, project planning, implementation, training, adoption and ongoing client growth. You will think strategically about the client, their operating context and technology direction while remaining accountable for practical delivery, project performance and measurable outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will:

• Build confidence with client stakeholders and end users through clear, credible communication, technical expertise and sound judgement.

• Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements, strategy and solution workshops (inc operating model, Systems of Work and Digital Ways of Working) that create alignment, surface assumptions and define measurable outcomes.

• Analyse complex business challenges and translate them into practical technology strategies, target-state options, architectures, roadmaps, investment priorities and delivery plans.

• Act as a trusted advisor across the client lifecycle, leading advisory engagements and executive conversations where required, from opportunity qualification and presales through successful delivery, adoption and ongoing client growth.

• Facilitate alignment between people, process and technology, helping clients define new ways of working and successfully translate strategic intent into operational outcomes.

• Recommend fit-for-purpose solutions based on client outcomes, available tools, delivery feasibility and commercial value.

• Contribute to solution design and estimation, clearly articulating scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, exclusions and confidence levels.

• Provide senior technology advice, thought leadership, technical assurance and architecture governance across priority client engagements.

• Move seamlessly between strategic advisory and hands-on technical delivery, taking ownership for turning agreed direction into implemented solutions.

• Undertake hands-on implementation within your areas of expertise, collaborating with specialists where additional depth is required.

• Build breadth across Solentive's service offerings over time while maintaining and deepening expertise in one or more areas.

• Use AI and other modern tools to improve the speed, quality and consistency of consulting and delivery work, while applying appropriate judgement and validating outputs.

• Build trusted client relationships and work comfortably on site, engaging directly with business stakeholders and end users to understand their context, objectives, constraints, technology landscape and measures of success.

• Maintain deep expertise in one or more of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, Data and Analytics, or AI and Automation, while building capability across adjacent domains and keeping abreast of emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consulting & Strategic Engagement:

• Challenge assumptions constructively and provide independent recommendations that balance business outcomes, user needs, commercial considerations, technical feasibility, risk and long-term sustainability.

• Translate ambiguous business needs into clear requirements, priorities, strategic options, technology roadmaps, architectures and actionable next steps.

• Lead and support client workshops, discovery sessions, requirements activities, playbacks and strategic conversations with stakeholders ranging from end users to senior executives.

• Challenge assumptions constructively and provide independent recommendations that balance business outcomes, user needs, commercial considerations and technical feasibility.

• Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business and technology teams, helping establish shared understanding, priorities and success measures.

Presales, Solution Shaping & Estimation:

• Apply the same core consulting and technical skills used in delivery to presales: understand the client, diagnose the problem, shape the right solution using the tools and capabilities we offer, estimate it and communicate its value.

• Contribute to opportunity qualification, discovery, proposals, presentations, demonstrations, solution design, architecture and estimation.

• Work effectively within the greater uncertainty of presales, making assumptions, risks, inclusions, exclusions, dependencies and confidence levels explicit.

• Support a smooth transition from presales into delivery so that client outcomes, scope, estimates and commitments are understood, achievable and carried through to implementation.

Solution Delivery:

• Design right-sized solutions without overengineering and implement directly within your areas of capability while collaborating with specialists where deeper expertise is required.

• Configure, develop and implement solutions across Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, Data and Analytics, AI and Automation, and adjacent technologies.

• Work with stakeholders and end users to define business, functional and technical requirements, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.

• Develop and maintain delivery plans; track progress against scope, schedule, budget and agreed outcomes; and communicate status clearly and proactively.

• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, quality and client expectations with discipline, raising concerns early with options and a recommended path forward.

• Support implementation across people, process and technology dimensions, including requirements definition, operating model design, stakeholder engagement, adoption activities and technology delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience delivering client-facing technology consulting and implementation within a professional services environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust, explain complexity simply and give clients confidence

• Strong client communication, workshop facilitation, discovery, stakeholder engagement and presentation capability.

• Demonstrated experience delivering client-facing technology consulting, strategic advisory and implementation within a professional services environment.

• Strong understanding of relevant solution architecture principles, integration patterns, security, governance, cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.

• Experience shaping fit-for-purpose solutions, preparing estimates and delivery plans, and managing work against scope, schedule and budget.

• Strong technical and hands-on implementation capability in one or more of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, Data and Analytics, or AI and Automation.

• Experience considering training, business change, user adoption and value realisation as part of successful implementation.

• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of utilisation, project profitability, delivery risk and the different uncertainty profiles of presales and billable delivery.

• Ability to think strategically about the client while remaining practical, technically credible and accountable for execution.

• Experience leading technology advisory engagements, developing technology strategies and roadmaps, assessing options and presenting recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders.

• Confident use of AI-assisted tools to improve analysis, documentation, solution exploration and delivery efficiency, with appropriate validation and judgement.

Highly Desirable:

• Deep implementation experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Power BI or enterprise data platforms and governance.

• Deep implementation experience in Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse or related business applications.

• Experience delivering solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, generative AI, agentic solutions or intelligent automation.

• Experience with solution architecture, enterprise architecture, integration, cloud-native design, modern software engineering or decisioning platforms.

• Experience contributing to both presales and billable delivery, including proposals, demonstrations, solution design, estimation and client presentations.

• Experience working in a boutique consulting environment where adaptability, ownership, utilisation and initiative are critical to success.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, Data, AI or Solution Architecture disciplines.
