Law Firm Finance Officer

The principals have more than 90 years' experience as legal practitioners and have conducted some of the longest running and complex litigation in Australia. The role 

As the Finance Officer at JGA Saddler you will work closely with and support our Practice Manager to provide critical finance support to our directors and the business. This includes accounts receivable and accounts payable production and management, credit card and office account reconciliation, payroll support, and reporting responsibilities across these lines.   

The position is part-time which can be worked to accommodate flexible arrangements for the right candidate.   

The role requires the ability to: 

• Prepare and manage accounts receivable, and accounts payable 

• Reconcile credit cards for matters and business  

• Report across all areas of responsibility 

• Work across and understand finance platforms and systems Aderant, Xero and Excel 

• Work closely with the Practice Manager and other team members 

• Complete the work within clear timeframes and performed to a high standard 

About you 

To be successful you will: 

• Ideally have worked in a similar role in a law firm previously 

• Be focussed and driven to complete the work within timeframes 

• Be numerate, and understand the different reporting requirements for law firms 

• Have exceptional attention to detail 

• Be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally  

• Follow instructions but at the same time show initiative as appropriate to the role
