ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST – FULL TIME

About the role

The Engineering Technologist will apply engineering principles and technological expertise to analyse, test, implement and improve engineering technologies, systems and technical processes used across the company's projects and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing engineering technologies, systems and technical processes to assess their performance and suitability.
• Investigate technical requirements and recommend improvements to existing technologies and engineering solutions.
• Conduct testing and evaluation of engineering technologies and systems, record results and analyse technical findings.
• Assist in developing, implementing and modifying engineering systems and technology-based solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, reports, procedures and other engineering documentation.
• Identify technical problems and undertake troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Recommend modifications and improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, functionality and performance.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning and implementation of engineering systems and technologies.
• Review engineering data, technical specifications and project requirements to ensure proposed solutions meet operational requirements.
• Liaise with engineers, technical specialists, project personnel, suppliers and other stakeholders regarding technical requirements.

About you

• A relevant bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience in an Engineering Technologist or comparable engineering/technical role.
• Demonstrated experience analysing, testing and evaluating engineering technologies or systems.
• Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical documentation and project requirements.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
