Head of Data & Analytics

Reporting to the Chief Digital & Information Officer, the Head of Data & Analytics will lead data engineering, analytics and business intelligence. The role will own enterprise data and analytics strategy, architecture, operating model and roadmap across Microsoft Fabric, Azure and AWS, establish trusted data products and semantic models, and improve enterprise reporting.

This role will establish the trusted foundations required for future AI and machine-learning adoption without requiring full AI ownership from commencement.

Here is what you will be doing:

• Lead data engineering, analytics and business intelligence

• Own data and analytics strategy, architecture and roadmap

• Set direction across Microsoft Fabric, Azure and AWS

• Establish trusted data products, semantic models and governed measures

• Strengthen governance, quality, lineage, cataloguing and ownership

• Embed DataOps, version control, automated testing and CI/CD

• Improve pipeline and reporting reliability, availability and performance

• Govern access, privacy and security by design

• Apply FinOps discipline to data workloads

• Translate operational and commercial questions into actionable insight

• Build capability, succession and data culture

• Support trusted and scalable AI and machine-learning solutions

Here is what you will bring:

• Significant leadership experience across data engineering, analytics and BI

• Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and enterprise architecture

• Experience delivering trusted data products, semantic models and analytics

• Strong understanding of governance, quality, lineage and ownership

• Experience improving DataOps and platform governance

• Experience leading multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams

• Commercial judgement across platforms, vendors and cloud consumption

• Confidence engaging executive, operational and technical stakeholders

• A record of developing leaders and enterprise data culture

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Power BI and Microsoft Purview would be highly regarded. Freight, logistics, transport, supply chain, e-commerce, network analytics, operational forecasting, customer analytics, pricing or production AI/ML experience would be advantageous.
