Finance Transformation Analyst

We are partnering with a large, nationally recognised not-for-profit organisation to appoint a Finance Transformation Analyst into a growing and strategically important division.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong accounting fundamentals with data analytics and systems capability and wants to play a hands-on role in improving financial insight, data integrity and business processes.

The organisation has recently implemented new operational and finance systems and is now focused on improving the flow, accuracy and integrity of data between the two environments.

The Role

The role will initially focus on analysing and reconciling historical financial and operational data, identifying discrepancies and improving the flow of information between operational and finance systems. Over time, the role will evolve into a broader commercial finance remit, providing analysis, insight and support to operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analysing and reconciling large datasets
• Investigating discrepancies and data integrity issues
• Understanding how operational activity flows through to the General Ledger
• Identifying root causes and driving issues through to resolution
• Using tools such as Excel, Power Query, SQL or similar to interrogate and manipulate data
• Improving reconciliation processes, workflows and controls
• Working closely with Finance, Operations and project stakeholders
• Contributing to broader finance transformation initiatives

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong accounting fundamentals with excellent analytical and data skills. You may have started your career in accounting or finance before developing strong capability across data analytics, systems or transformation.

You'll ideally have:

• A strong accounting/finance foundation and understanding of the GL
• Experience working with large datasets and complex reconciliations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel and experience with Power Query, SQL or similar
• Strong attention to detail and an investigative mindset
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of problems
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability

This isn't your traditional Commercial Finance role. You'll have the opportunity to work across finance, data and systems, initially taking ownership of a significant data and systems improvement agenda before developing into a broader commercial finance remit..
