Finance Systems Accountant

The Company:

Our client is a market leader in the industrial services sector, delivering specialised engineering solutions to a broad range of national customers.
As part of a multi-year Finance Transformation Program, the organisation is building a standardised, scalable, and insight-led Finance function to support continued growth, investor readiness, and operational excellence.
They are now seeking an experienced Finance Systems Accountant to join their Finance team and play a key role in supporting and improving the financial systems and ERP environment.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the organisation's ERP environment. You'll provide hands-on support to Finance users; help maintain system integrity and work closely with the wider Finance Systems team to deliver ongoing transformation and improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

In this varied role, you'll:

• Provide day-to-day functional support to Finance users across ERP and financial systems.
• Troubleshoot and help resolve issues affecting GL, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Support the maintenance of financial mapping and chart of accounts structures.
• Assist with system testing, upgrades, patches and configuration changes, including documenting results and identifying defects.
• Maintain and enhance Finance reports, dashboards and system documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the user experience for Finance.
• Develop and maintain process maps, user guides and training materials.
• Provide practical guidance and coaching to Finance users on system functionality and best practice.
• Participate in Finance systems projects, including ERP enhancements, implementations and upgrades.
• Contribute to UAT, data migration, go-live preparation and post-implementation support.
• Work collaboratively with Finance colleagues, ICT and external vendors to deliver effective solutions.

About you:

We're looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is curious about technology and enjoys understanding how systems and processes work.

You'll ideally have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification, or be close to completing your qualification.
• 2–3 years' experience in accounting, finance systems or ERP support.
• Practical experience working with an ERP system and core Finance modules.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and GL, AP and AR processes.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.
• The ability to explain systems and processes clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience with Infor LN will be highly regarded. Experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Dynamics will also be valuable.

Experience in system testing, ERP implementations/upgrades, process improvement, Power BI, advanced Excel, or a multi-entity environment will be advantageous.
