Our client is a well-established healthcare organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality care and support to the community. With a strong focus on patient outcomes, innovation and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their collaborative finance team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Process employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Support payroll by preparing payroll journals and reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax and other statutory reporting as required.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury activities.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Respond to internal and external finance enquiries.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, healthcare funding requirements and organisational policies.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer or Accounts Officer position.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
- Experience supporting month-end reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems (TechnologyOne, Oracle NetSuite, MYOB, Xero, SAP or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Healthcare, aged care or not-for-profit experience will be highly regarded.
