Role Overview:

As a Purchasing Assistant & Freight Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain and logistics. You will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, handling freight dispatch, and performing general warehouse duties.


Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing:

  • Assist with the procurement of parts and materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.

  • Maintain accurate records of orders, suppliers, and inventory levels.

  • Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary to avoid shortages.

  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Freight Dispatch:

  • Coordinate the dispatch and delivery of goods to customers and internal departments.

  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and invoices.

  • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.

  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.

Warehouse Duties:

  • Perform general warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, and organizing goods.

  • Manage the receipt and storage of incoming inventory.

  • Assist with periodic stock checks and maintain an organized warehouse environment.

  • Ensure accurate inventory management and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

  • Previous experience in purchasing, freight dispatch, or warehouse operations is desirable but not required.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Basic computer competency and familiarity with inventory management systems.

  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

  • A current Driver’s Licence is preferred.
