About the Role
As our Accounts Payable Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial health of the business by ensuring supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately, efficiently and on time. Working within a collaborative Finance team, you'll build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders while contributing to continuous improvement across our accounts payable function.
Responsibilities & Duties
Process supplier invoices, payments and employee expense claims accurately and within agreed timeframes.
Verify invoice details, resolve discrepancies and obtain the appropriate approvals.
Maintain supplier records, including bank details, insurance documentation and credit applications.
Reconcile supplier statements, credit cards and accounts payable transactions.
Prepare reports to support month-end, year-end and cash flow forecasting activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Support audits by maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Provide training and support to employees using the invoice and expense management platform.
Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Work closely with the wider Finance team to support business objectives and ad-hoc projects.
About You
You're an organised and proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in producing accurate work, building strong relationships and delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders. With a solutions-focused mindset, you're always looking for ways to improve processes while maintaining the highest level of accuracy.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations and supplier management.
Experience using accounting software (Pronto experience will be highly regarded) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritise competing tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge of Australian accounting practices, compliance requirements and internal controls.
Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business (or equivalent industry experience) will be highly regarded.
