Our systems include pneumatic tube systems (PTS), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), pharmacy automation, and custom-engineered logistics systems—helping essential facilities move smarter, faster, and more reliably.

As Lamson enters an exciting phase of growth in the automation industry, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function—leading financial operations, reporting, governance, and strategy.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full ownership of Lamson's finance function, ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the business.

This is a true end-to-end finance leadership role where you will oversee all finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, cashflow management, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and administration functions. You will lead a finance and Admin team of five while partnering closely with the General Manager and leadership team to support strategic business decisions and drive continuous improvement.

You will deliver timely and accurate financial information, prepare comprehensive Board reports, ensure strong financial controls, and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Lamson's finance and Admin team (5 staff).

• Take ownership of the entire finance function across the business.

• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory, General Ledger, Administration, and month-end processes.

• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.

• Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and statutory compliance.

• Prepare monthly management accounts, Board reports and financial analysis.

• Manage cashflow, working capital, debtors and creditor performance.

• Ensure compliance with BAS, GST, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory obligations.

• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, controls and business processes.

• Partner with operational teams to analyse project profitability, margins and business performance.

• Liaise with external auditors, accountants, banks and other key stakeholders.

About You

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.

• CA or CPA qualified.

• Minimum 8 years' experience in senior finance leadership roles.

• Proven experience managing the complete finance function of a medium-sized business.

• Strong hands-on experience overseeing:

  • Accounts Payable

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Payroll

  • Inventory accounting and controls

  • Cashflow management

  • Financial reporting and compliance

• Demonstrated experience leading finance teams, including outsourced or hybrid teams.

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide strategic financial advice to senior management.

• Excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills.

• Experience within project-based, engineering, manufacturing or technical service industries will be highly regarded.
