Company Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our mining services business in Kewdale. This is a permanent position within a small admin team. You will be responsible for overseeing all the accounting functions of a handful of small to medium related entities with the help of a full time Accounts Manager. Financial accuracy and reporting integrity are crucial to our business as we require accurate up to date reporting at all times.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, The Company Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely month end processes, cost reporting, budgeting support and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities.

• Provide financial insight into key cost drivers and support continuous cost control and performance improvement initiatives.

• Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations and audit requirements.

• Collaborate with management to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial integrity.

About You

To be successful in the role you must have :-

• CPA qualification.

• Minimum 10 years experience in a similar role.

• Strong working knowledge of QBO and Reckon Hosted (essential).

• Extensive experience with Plant and Equipment Finance and Depreciation.

• High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.

• Strong communication skills.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

• Enjoy working in-office as part of a small vibrant team.
