Suttons Motors Group is a privately owned Australian company and one of Australia's leading automotive retailers.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years' accounting experience who is looking to further develop their career in a supportive and professional environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity to build your accounting career within a friendly, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Daily banking and cash sales account reconciliations.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Process manufacturer invoices and payments via EDI.

• Assist with month-end accounting tasks and financial reporting.

• Support the Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting and finance activities.

• Assist the wider Finance team as required.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Financial Controller.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer or similar accounting role is desirable.

• Qualification in Accounting or Finance, or currently completing tertiary studies.

• Sound understanding of accounting principles and processes.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Pentana / ERA Dealer Management Systems.

• Experience within the automotive industry (highly regarded but not essential).
