Newly created position | Hybrid working

As Upstream Solutions continues to grow, we're creating a new Accounts Receivable Officer position to support our expanding customer base and Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, you'll play an important role in protecting cash flow, supporting customers and contributing to the ongoing development of our finance processes.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Accounts Receivable inbox and responding to customer enquiries

  • Monitoring customer accounts and following up outstanding debts via phone and email

  • Processing daily cash receipts and accurately allocating customer payments

  • Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies, short payments and unallocated receipts

  • Processing approved customer refunds

  • Managing the onboarding of new customers, including customer account setup, maintaining customer master data

  • Preparing customer statements and supporting month-end Accounts Receivable reconciliations

  • Liaising with Sales, Contract Billing and other internal departments to resolve customer queries

  • Assisting with debtor reporting and ageing analysis

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and support continuous improvement within the Finance team

About you

To be successful in this role you'll bring:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, or a related finance or customer-facing role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships with customers by phone and email

  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills

  • A professional, confident and customer-focused approach to collections

  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • The ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage a high-volume workload

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience using an ERP or accounting system
