Finance Manager (Part Time)

Acumen Corp is a construction and fitout company delivering projects across Sydney. We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of our day to day accounts function in a part time capacity.
About the role
Working closely with our commercial and project teams, you'll oversee the financial operations of the business and keep our accounts running smoothly across multiple concurrent projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable managing the full accounts cycle independently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs, including subcontractor and supplier payments
Managing accounts receivable, including issuing progress claims and invoices and following up outstanding payments
Overseeing accounts payable, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Managing BAS, GST and payroll obligations in conjunction with our external accountant
Monitoring project cash flow and providing regular reporting to management
Maintaining supplier and subcontractor account records, including insurances and payment terms
Supporting month end and year end processes
About you
Proven experience in a finance or accounts management role, ideally within construction, fitout or a related industry
Strong working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software
Understanding of progress claims, retentions and subcontractor payment processes would be highly regarded
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously
Strong communication skills and a practical, no-fuss approach
