What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced management accountant proficient in Xero/MYOB and its add-ons to help transform our finance function and manage daily finance tasks. This position reports to the Business Manager and CFO and will receive guidance to achieve team objectives. This role can be performed from Brisbane only.

Finance administrators handle most transactional tasks, allowing the management accountant to focus on higher-level work; ideal for those seeking to advance their skills and career. Offering help on payroll, invoicing[A1] [A2]  and other administration tasks when a colleague is on leave is essential.

Key responsibility areas of the role include;

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management reports and financial statements

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making

  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls and processes

  • Support strategic planning and business case development

  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting

  • Lead or contribute to finance-related projects and system improvements

  • Assist with compliance and regulatory reporting requirements

  • Covering for the administration tasks including customer billing and payroll[A3] [A4]  when team members are on leave.

  • Managing weekly payment runs


Key skills and experiences:

  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles and practices

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

  • Proficiency in financial reporting and data interpretation

  • Advanced Excel skills and a high level of MYOB and Xero knowledge

  • Ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of financial compliance and internal controls

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid understanding of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements


What you will bring

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with accounting degree and a Chartered Accountant or CPA who has advanced computer skills, a technophile who is interested in working in a complex fast-moving commercial environment. You need to have advanced Microsoft Office skills, know your way around different software and have a good understanding on how technology is changing the accounting environment.

We are seeking someone that likes to challenge & investigate information to make better informed business decisions. Someone who is interested in the 'bigger picture' & how to improve controls while understanding how information & decisions can affect stakeholders across the business is very beneficial. Previous experience with AI tools is advantageous but not essential.
