The Opportunity

As the Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of both the foundational financial accounting, rigorous compliance, and essential financial controls, while also driving a forward thinking vision alongside a newly appointed Head of Finance. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will collaborate across operational divisions to ensure the seamless delivery of accurate financial governance that directly supports strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do

In this permanent Financial Accountant role, you will take comprehensive ownership of core accounting activities and play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of the group. You will drive end-to-end month-end close processes, execute definitive year-end reconciliations, and serve as a primary liaison for annual statutory audit requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Month-End & Year-End Closing: Leading the end-to-end ledger closure, performing complex intercompany eliminations, balancing multi-entity consolidations, and preparing comprehensive financial statements for year-end reporting.
• Audit Coordination & Compliance: Serving as the key point of contact for external auditors, preparing detailed year-end workpapers, and ensuring strict compliance with statutory accounting standards.
• Taxation & Statutory Reporting: Overseeing timely BAS, GST, and corporate tax lodgements, while maintaining highly structured documentation to safeguard internal controls across the group.
• Inter-Departmental Collaboration & Growth: Partnering with cross-functional operational divisions over time to optimize financial workflows, clarify reporting metrics, and drive personal development through diverse project exposures.

What You'll Bring
You will bring proven experience in corporate accounting, supported by CA or CPA qualifications (or actively working towards them). You will possess a deep technical understanding of fundamental accounting principles, year-end procedures, audit preparation, and multi-entity statutory frameworks. Solid experience navigating complex corporate structures or the property sector is highly regarded.

Highly organised with a structured approach, you possess advanced Excel skills and proficiency with corporate ERP systems. You can comfortably manage competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the communication skills to foster meaningful inter-departmental connections.
