WORK TYPE: Part-time, 25 hours per week, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

PAY $90,000 to $105,000 pro-rata, plus 12% superannuation

More than a distributor. A brand custodian.

Typical lock and electronics companies move boxes and leave the rest to someone else. We do the opposite. DDL acts as a dedicated custodian for the brands we carry, managing the entire lifecycle from A to Z, and we keep every stage of it in-house:

● Supply, marketing, e-commerce, and installation, all managed by our own people, never outsourced.

● A repair-first after-sales service we call Roadside Rescue: we fix rather than replace, and send experts to the door with spare parts already stocked.

● A constant listening loop with partners and customers, so the experience stays one people genuinely love.

That end-to-end control is our competitive advantage. It is also why our finance function has to be sharp, forward-looking, and proud of the same standard the rest of the business lives by.

The role: strategy, not data entry

We are looking for a commercially minded, part-time Finance Manager to own the financial strategy behind all of it. You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm, from our beautiful Melbourne showroom three days a week and from home for two, and you will spend that time on the work that actually moves the business: margin, cash flow, and the clarity that lets us make confident decisions.

WHAT MAKES THIS SEAT DIFFERENT

● Automation does the processing, you do the thinking. Our data capture runs on modern tooling (Dext, Hubdoc, OCR, smart bank rules), so your day is not consumed by keying invoices. It is spent on analysis and strategy.

● A genuine partnership, not a hierarchy. You will work side by side with our experienced Accounts Senior, who owns compliance, payroll, and processing from Perth. This is a meeting of two senior finance professionals who respect each other's domains, not a manager watching over a clerk.

● Real, protected flexibility. A firm commitment to the 9:00am to 2:00pm rhythm, built around your life, not eroded by it.


What you will own

● Cash flow. Maintain and drive a 13-week rolling forecast that keeps our working capital working.

● Margin and landed cost. Analyse freight, duties, and 3PL costs into accurate COGS, and track margin by product line so we always know where we make our money.

● Management reporting. Deliver clear month-end reporting within five business days, using Xero and modern reporting tools such as Fathom or Float.

● The finance tech stack. Act as strategic custodian of our systems, keeping data flowing cleanly between Xero, our cloud inventory and warehouse platform, and our capture automation.


Who you are

● Distribution-fluent. Proven Finance Manager or Controller experience in an inventory-heavy B2B or wholesale business at $10M or greater scale.

● Tech-forward by instinct. You are energised, not threatened, by AI and automation, OCR, smart bank rules, and workflow integrations.

● A Xero ecosystem expert, comfortable with automated data capture and integrated cloud inventory or WMS software.

● Collaborative across distance. You partner well with a senior remote colleague across time zones, leading through respect and clear communication rather than oversight.

● Qualified and grounded. CA, CPA, or equivalent is highly regarded, though real distribution experience matters most.
