Finance Operations Officer

Nova Pharmaceuticals is seeking a capable and motivated Finance & Operations Officer to join our team.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across finance, payroll and business operations while contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the organisation.
This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working across multiple functions and supporting both operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
This role combines hands-on finance operations responsibilities including payroll ownership and provides exposure to cross-functional business activities across the organisation.
Working closely with the CFO and finance team, you will play an important role in supporting financial processes, operational effectiveness and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
Coordinate and administer end-to-end payroll processes
Support month-end close activities and reporting processes
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and finance schedules
Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as required
Maintain finance records, documentation and internal controls
Assist with finance process improvement initiatives
People & Business Operations
Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding activities
Maintain employee records and employment documentation
Support leave administration and employee services
Coordinate operational vendors and service providers
Assist with day-to-day business administration activities
Cross-Functional Support
Act as a key operational link between Finance and other business functions
Support cross-functional projects and business improvement initiatives
Assist with process documentation and standardisation activities
Contribute to business continuity and operational resilience across the organisation
Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to support organisational objectives
About You
You may currently be working as a Finance Officer, Finance & Payroll Officer, Assistant Accountant or Company Accountant and are looking to broaden your experience across finance, payroll and business operations.
You will ideally bring:
3–5 years’ experience in accounting, finance operations and payroll
Strong end-to-end payroll experience
Sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and month-end processes
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
Experience supporting operational improvement initiatives will be highly regarded.
