About the Role

We are on the lookout for a suitably qualified accountant to take on the role of Assistant Accountant at our headquarters situated in Rozelle, Sydney.

As an integral member of the Group Finance Function, the successful candidate will be immersed in a range of accounting and finance duties to support the timely production of financial accounts and delivery of finance related outputs to key internal stakeholders.

The Group has embarked on a transformation of the financial function, utilises Xero accounting software across the Group and is in the process of implementing various platforms, including Employment Hero for payroll.

We are looking for an individual with energy and ambition to immerse themselves in the rapidly changing finance environment, deliver on numerous tasks and take ownership of important elements of the finance process.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts receivable - assist the team with invoicing customers and following up receivables.

• Cross-over with the accounts payable team - ensure accurate coding of supplier invoices to expense and balance sheet accounts, and prepare supplier batch payments for approval by Finance Manager.

• Reconcile bank transactions in Xero, on a daily basis, and prepare weekly cash flow summaries.

• Close out the monthly financial accounts of the Group, in an expedited manner.

• Reconcile balance sheet items.

• Other accounting and finance related duties, which can include adhoc projects, as assigned by senior members of the finance team.

About You

• Tertiary qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

• Ambition to pursue a career in accounting and finance, ideally with a goal to achieve a CPA accounting qualification.

• High level of attention to detail, with an ability to see tasks to completion, with minimal supervision.

• A team player, with a willingness and eagerness to collaborate with team members, and take on adhoc finance projects.
