Water Meter Reader

About the role:

The Meter Reader position involves driving to the start of an allocated route/s and then moving on foot from location to location reading and logging data from water meters into a hand-held device for commercial and domestic properties throughout the Unitywater contract area.  We are offering full-time positions for the right candidate.

Candidates would ideally reside within the Eaton's Hill Region and should be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and terrain, walking between 10km and 15km per day. This is a very physically demanding position where we work towards tight deadlines to deliver a high level of service standards.

The successful applicants will receive:

• Full training provided

• Company uniform provided

• Paid motor vehicle allowance 98c per km for all km’s driven between routes.

• Routes usually assigned within 30km from your home (to/from starting routes is at own

• Unique 11 week on, 2 week off roster with both weeks paid (1 week Banked time, 1 week using annual leave)

• Career progression with opportunities for Pay level increases based on productivity

What you will bring to the role:

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

• Physically fit and able to walk 10-15 km daily in all weather conditions

• Strong focus on safety, reliability and meeting deadlines

• Comfortable entering properties (including those with animals safely)

• High attention to detail with excellent customer service skills

• Willing to complete police check, medical and drug/alcohol screening

• Available to work 8.25 hours/day (weekdays) – Overtime is also available

• Previous meter reading experience would be considered highly desirable
