Glen Fisk Recruitment is partnering with a large Queensland organisation undertaking a strategic transformation focused on strengthening revenue compliance through advanced analytics, data science, and AI-driven capabilities.

This high-profile initiative is already underway and requires an experienced Data Science Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of advanced machine learning solutions, oversee multiple analytics workstreams, and ensure robust integration of data science outputs into enterprise compliance processes.

The role will work closely with business stakeholders, the Analytics Division, and technical teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, production-ready models, while also providing mentorship to junior data scientists and driving best practice across the function.

The Role

The Senior Data Scientist is required to:

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced data science and machine learning models to support revenue compliance initiatives, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Apply strong technical skills to conduct data preparation, feature engineering, model development, and performance evaluation using modern data science tools and techniques.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical deliverables, and ensure data science solutions address key compliance challenges.
• Work closely with the Data Science Delivery Manager and Analytics Division to integrate data science solutions into QRO’s compliance processes and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior data scientists and analytic team members, fostering skill development, encouraging best practices, and supporting knowledge transfer through documentation and hands-on guidance.
• Communicate complex data science concepts and insights effectively to non-technical audiences, preparing high-quality presentations, reports, and briefing materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and apply innovative techniques to improve outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of data science outputs by applying attention to detail, rigorous testing, and troubleshooting of models and data pipelines.

To be successful in this role, the Worker should have the following skills and
experience:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience delivering data science and machine learning solutions end-to-end into production, including managing the full model development lifecycle (data preparation, iterative model development, testing), deployment to production environments, and ongoing monitoring or maintenance.
• Technical proficiency in modern data analytics platforms, particularly Azure Databricks and its core components (including Databricks Workspaces, Notebooks, Apache Spark/Spark SQL, Delta Lake, MLflow, Databricks Jobs/Workflows, Unity Catalog, Feature Store, Genie and Model Serving capabilities). Familiarity with other Azure services, such as Azure Machine Learning and Azure Data Factory, is desirable but not mandatory.
