Accounts Payable Officer

Our client is a well-established construction business with a strong pipeline of projects across New South Wales. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team on an initial contract basis, with a genuine pathway to permanent employment for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and can hit the ground running from day one.

Our client is a well-established construction business with a strong pipeline of projects across New South Wales. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team on an initial contract basis, with a genuine pathway to permanent employment for the right candidate.

The Role
- Full-cycle accounts payable processing across a high volume of subcontractor and supplier invoices
- Matching purchase orders, delivery dockets, and invoices
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries in a timely manner
- Coding invoices to the correct cost centres and projects within Jobpac
- Liaising with site teams and project managers to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Assisting with month-end close activities and AP reporting
- Maintaining accurate vendor records and supporting audit requirements
- Proven accounts payable experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or a project-based environment
- Hands-on experience with Jobpac — this is essential and non-negotiable
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across internal teams and external vendors
- Immediately available or on a short notice period
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights
- Initial contract of 3–6 months, with a genuine view to convert to a permanent role
- Monday to Friday, 5 days per week on-site in the Sydney CBD
- Supportive and collaborative finance team
- Exposure to a diverse and active project portfolio
