We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accounts Officer to join our team. This is an engaging role responsible for the day-to-day finance function, working closely with our Commercial Manager, Directors and project teams.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring accurate financial records, timely payments and compliance with company procedures.

Our business uses Procore and Xero, providing an efficient, integrated workflow. Project teams are responsible for raising purchase orders, cost coding and approving invoices in Procore before they flow through to Xero for processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

• Process supplier payments, client invoices and bank reconciliations.

• Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with superannuation, PAYG and payroll obligations.

• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including journals and reconciliations.

• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting and statutory reporting (BAS, GST and Payroll Tax).

• Review invoices transferred from Procore into Xero and resolve any queries with project teams.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and contribute to the ongoing efficiency of the finance function.

About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts or Finance role.

• Strong experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll.

• High attention to detail with excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Experience with Xero, Procore or the construction industry is highly regarded but not essential.
