As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial integrity and success of our ANZ operations.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance obligations across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a hands-on role that will see you owning key components of the month end close process, supporting statutory and corporate reporting requirements, maintaining strong financial controls, and partnering with local and global stakeholders to deliver high quality financial outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
Own and manage the month-end close process in accordance with corporate timelines and reporting requirements.
Prepare and review journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger analysis.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including clearing direct debits and transactions.
Support quarterly corporate reporting requirements and submissions to US Head Office.
Prepare cost centre reporting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
Compile statutory financial statements for Australia and New Zealand.
Coordinate and support external audit activities, ensuring audit readiness and timely delivery of documentation.
Maintain compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, and approval frameworks.
Manage intercompany transactions, settlements, and fund transfers.
Support tax compliance activities including GST, FBT, withholding tax, and income tax workpapers.
Provide backup support for payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, controls, and reporting.
About you:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
CPA or CA qualification advantageous
5+ years' experience in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, or a similar finance role.
Strong experience with month end reporting, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting requirements
Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand taxation and compliance requirements
Exposure to SOX controls and multinational business environments will be highly regarded.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and reconciliation tools such as BlackLine.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across local and global teams.
