About the Role
Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Business Manager to support the Business Manager in delivering effective financial, operational and administrative services across the College.
This is a key leadership role within our Business Services team, contributing to sound financial management, compliance, and operational excellence, while supporting the mission and Christian values of the College.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Business Manager, this role will:
Provide financial and operational support across the College’s business functions
Oversee accounting operations, including reporting, budgeting, and compliance
Prepare monthly financial reports, BAS, FBT returns, and government reporting
Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget
Maintain financial controls, asset registers, and audit readiness
Oversee College trading operations (OSHC and Tuckshop)
Manage and monitor contracts with external providers (e.g. cleaning, transport, uniform shop)
Support facilities hire operations and contract management
Act as Business Manager when required and lead projects as delegated
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Essential criteria:
Proven experience in a similar financial/management role within a school environment
Strong financial and accounting expertise, including reporting, compliance, and budgeting
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business
CPA/CA qualified with a strong commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A current or ability to obtain a Blue Card
Desirable:
Experience in independent or faith-based education
Understanding of school funding and compliance requirements
Familiarity with OSHC and/or trading operations in a school setting
Familiarity with TASS
