Weighbridge Operator (No Experience Necessary)

About the role

Access Metal Recycling is a well-established regional scrap metal company seeking a Weighbridge Operator to join our team in Fyshwick. No previous experience is required as comprehensive on the job training will be provided.

As the first point of contact for customers and drivers, the weighbridge plays a critical role in our operations. You will be responsible for accurately recording vehicle and material information, managing traffic flow, and ensuring the efficient movement of vehicles through the site.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm

• Saturday: 7:30 am – 11:30 am (rotating roster, every second or third Saturday)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate weighbridge equipment to accurately record incoming and outgoing vehicles and material.

• Enter vehicle and load information into the data management system with a high level of accuracy.

• Verify documentation such as manifests, delivery notes and identification details for all vehicles entering and leaving the site.

• Direct and manage traffic flow safely and efficiently.

• Communicate with customers and drivers in a professional manner.

• Maintain a clean and organised weighbridge area.

• Report any discrepancies, equipment issues or safety concerns to management.

• Comply with all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.

What You'll Bring

• No prior experience required – full training will be provided (previous administrative experience will be highly regarded but not essential).

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.

• Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems.

• Ability to work independently whilst following established procedures.

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Reliability and punctuality

• Physical fitness suitable for standing for extended periods.

• A current Australian driver's licence (preferred).
