Finance Manager

About the Role

Metro Express Transport Group is seeking an experienced and driven Finance Manager to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for the effective financial management, governance and reporting across the Group.

You will play a key role in providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring the integrity of financial information, maintaining compliance and support executive decision-making to drive sustainable growth and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations (Administration, AP, AR, and payroll)

• Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including reconciliations, variance analysis, and BAS/statutory reporting

• Manage asset register, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making

Compliance & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements

• Liaise with auditors, accountants, banks, and external advisers

• Support audits and maintain strong governance frameworks and controls

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and administration team

• Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

• Coordinate team workflows to meet business needs

Continuous Improvement

• Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting

• Drive efficiency across finance and administration functions

• Support broader Head Office activities as required

 About You

Essential Skills & Experience

·       Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

·       3+ years experience in a similar role

·       Strong experience in finance, reporting, budgeting and forecasting

·       Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements

·       Progression toward Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (or intention to complete)

·       Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting/ERP systems.

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
