ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking to add an experienced Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver to our existing Factory Operations team. This position plays an important role within Southern Cross’ business operations, the right candidate will be responsible for delivering joinery items and other building materials from our Factory to Site safely for installation.

Reporting directly to the Factory Operations Manager, the position requires the ability to work to sharp timelines in a consistent manner. Other duties will include:

-          Load trucks efficiently ensuring product is transported in full and safely

-          Assist in warehouse with packing and wrapping fragile goods

-          Loading third party trucks

-          Helping site teams with loading and unloading trucks

-          Deliver and pick up what the business requires

This position will also be required to perform ad hoc jobs around the factory when not delivering items to site.

Due to the nature of the business, majority of deliveries will be within 100-150km of our Factory in Castle Hill. Some regional projects and occasional interstate driving may also be required.

Sub-contractor arrangements will also be considered for the preferred candidate!

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will possess:

-          Demonstrable Truck Driving/Delivery experience in a Construction setting

-          Heavy Rigid Truck License (mandatory)

-          Forklift license (desirable)

-          Understanding of NHVR compliance and Chain of Responsibility requirements

-          A can-do attitude

-          Reliability and dependability

-          Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines

-          Excellent communication skills
