Financial Accountant – Family Business Group

About Us

We are a growing family-owned business group operating across multiple entities within the healthcare, distribution, and professional services sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join our team and play a key role in managing the financial performance and compliance of the group.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role responsible for the financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic support of multiple business entities. Working closely with the Directors and senior leadership team, you will oversee day-to-day accounting functions while providing valuable financial insights to support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the financial operations of multiple entities within the group.

• Prepare monthly management reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasting.

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.

• Manage end-of-month and end-of-year financial processes.

• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.

• Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.

• Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.

• Assist with budgeting, business planning, and financial strategy.

• Ensure compliance with all accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.

• Provide financial analysis and reporting to Directors and senior management.

• Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with employment obligations.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and business growth.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion).

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.

• Experience managing multiple entities and intercompany transactions.

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.

• Advanced experience with Xero and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with business owners and stakeholders.
