About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on role, supporting financial operations, reporting, analysis, and process improvement.

The successful candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals, advanced Excel capabilities, and proven experience using SAP Business One (SAP B1), including developing and maintaining queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and finance functions.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.

  • Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Prepare BAS, payroll-related reconciliations, and statutory reporting.

  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise SAP Business One queries.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.

  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and key stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant accounting or finance qualifications (CA qualified or working towards qualification preferred).

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

    • Pivot Tables

    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

    • Power Query (favourable not essential)

    • Data analysis and reporting

  • Strong SAP Business One (SAP B1) experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, modify, and maintain SAP B1 queries.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
