Head of Data / Data Tech Lead

We’re partnering with a growing Australian-owned, highly successful business based just 1 km outside the CBD, investing heavily in building out its data capability and looking to build their data capability from the ground up.
We are looking for a hands-on Data manager Or Senior Data Engineer ready to step into a true lead role—own the data strategy, build the platform, and stay hands-on.
The role

• Own and deliver the end-to-end data platform (lake, warehouse, reporting)
• Stay hands-on across ETL pipelines, modelling, and integrations
• Consolidate data across ~30 systems into a clean, unified architecture
• Drive better reporting, insights, and commercial outcomes
• Work directly with senior stakeholders on data strategy and data roadmaps

What you bring

• Strong Senior Data Engineer / Tech Lead background (ready for the next step)
• Deep experience with SQL, ETL pipelines, and data modelling
• Experience building or scaling data platforms / warehouses
• Exposure to BI tools (Power BI / Tableau) and Python
• Natural leadership mindset – able to own, build, and influence
