Deskripsi Pekerjaan

As an Engagement Worker, you'll walk alongside people experiencing homelessness and other complex challenges as they rebuild stability, confidence and connection.

Some days you'll help someone access housing. Some days you'll celebrate a milestone that others might overlook. And sometimes, the most important thing you'll do is simply listen.

This isn't a role with predictable days or easy answers.

It's a role where you'll finish work knowing your time mattered.

We have two full-time opportunities available:

Shift 1: Monday to Friday (Monday & Tuesday: 7:00am – 3:00pm | Wednesday to Friday: 2:30pm – 10:30pm)

Shift 2: Monday to Friday (Monday: 7:00am – 3:00pm | Tuesday to Friday: 2:30pm – 10:30pm)

What you'll be doing:

  • Building trusted relationships with people, taking the time to understand their story and what matters most to them.

  • Delivering person-centred, trauma-informed support that empowers people to make informed choices, build on their strengths and work towards their goals.

  • Walking alongside consumers as they navigate housing, health, wellbeing and other life challenges.

  • Connecting people with the right services, advocating when needed and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Creating safe, welcoming spaces where people feel heard, respected and supported.

  • Recording consumer progress and contributing to high-quality, values-led service delivery.

You'll thrive in this role if you...

  • Hold a qualification in Community Services, Mental Health, Social Work or a related discipline – experience supporting clients experiencing homelessness will be well regarded.

  • Genuinely enjoy building relationships and helping people navigate life's challenges.

  • Take a person-centred, trauma-informed approach that recognises each person's strengths, choices and lived experience.

  • Stay calm and adaptable when plans change or challenges arise.

  • Can confidently manage your day, maintain accurate records and juggle competing priorities.

  • Are curious, open to learning and committed to continually growing your skills.

What’s in it for you?

  • Pay: Competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging giving you the potential to gain up to $18,500 in tax benefits

  • Leave: 23 days annual leave, that’s 3 days more than the standard 4 weeks

  • Perks: Lots of social activities, expand your experience by joining a consultation committee, see the impact of your work every day

  • Hours: 38 hours per week. We have 2 shift lines available as noted in the advertisement

  • Career development: Training, accessible leaders, growth and advancement opportunities

  • Culture: Exceptional workplace culture – we work hard and have fun while we do it
