Supported by Godiva global and empowered by a high-performing local team, this is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic and commercially focused Finance Manager to join our Australian leadership team and contribute to the next phase of the brand's growth.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys balancing strategic business partnering with operational finance leadership.
Reporting to the Country Manager and supported by an Accounts Payable resource, you will partner with leaders across Retail, E-Commerce and Wholesale to provide financial insights, drive performance and ensure strong financial governance across the business.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, accountability and ownership. The right person will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, reconciling the details, challenging assumptions and ensuring financial information is both accurate and actionable. They will bring a proactive mindset, a commitment to continuous improvement and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the business to drive informed decision-making.
Just as importantly, they will be eager to grow with the business, build trusted relationships and develop into a broader commercial finance leader over time.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and annual planning processes.
• Deliver accurate monthly reporting, financial analysis and business insights.
• Partner with the Country Manager and department leaders to support commercial decision-making.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and expenditure.
• Identify opportunities, risks and areas for improved profitability and efficiency.
• Oversee month-end processes, financial controls and statutory compliance.
• Support and oversee the Accounts Payable function.
• Prepare and present financial reports to local leadership and Godiva Japan.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems and processes.
About You
You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being deeply connected to the business and partnering with leaders to drive performance. You don't see finance as a back-office function – you see it as a strategic business partner that provides insight, challenge and guidance to support better decision-making.
You are equally comfortable presenting financial performance to senior stakeholders as you are rolling up your sleeves and getting into the details. You enjoy working in a lean environment where no two days are the same and take pride in balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You build strong relationships and have the confidence to challenge, influence, and communicate financial information clearly and practically. Given our close partnership with Godiva Japan, you are also comfortable operating in a global environment and presenting financial results and recommendations to overseas stakeholders..
• CPA or CA qualification (preferred).
• 5+ years' experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role.
• Experience within retail, FMCG or consumer goods businesses will be highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting, reporting and forecasting capability.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing commercial decisions.
• Confidence in presenting financial information to overseas stakeholders, with experience working with Japanese stakeholders highly regarded.
• Previous experience working within a Japanese-owned business and conversational Japanese language skills are desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into practical business insights.
