About the Role
Reporting to our Accounts Manager (CPA), the Accounts Assistant supports the day-to-day finance function across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general bookkeeping. You will work across our Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Xero systems, with the support of an advanced Claude AI workflow that takes the repetitive load out of reporting and reconciliation — freeing you to focus on accuracy, analysis and process improvement. The role suits a detail-oriented, reliable person who enjoys ownership of their work and wants to grow within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Process accounts payable: enter supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and prepare payment runs
• Manage accounts receivable: raise customer invoices, monitor aged debtors, and follow up outstanding payments
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with expense processing, credit card reconciliations and staff reimbursements
• Maintain accurate financial records across Dynamics 365 and Xero
• Support month-end close, including journals and account reconciliations
• Assist with GST/BAS preparation under the guidance of the Accounts Manager
• Help maintain inventory and intercompany records across our AU and VN operations
• Leverage our AI tools to streamline reporting and improve data accuracy
• Provide general finance and administrative support to the team
About You
• 3 years’ experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role (Australian experience preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Xero (highly regarded)
• Intermediate Excel skills and confidence learning new systems and technology
• Sound understanding of AP/AR processes, bank reconciliations and Australian GST/BAS
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
• Well organised, able to manage deadlines and prioritise in a fast-moving environment
• Professional communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
• Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or working towards) is advantageous
