Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Training Specialist to design, deliver, and assess vocational automotive programs to apprentices and trainees on the job in their workplace. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on automotive expertise with the ability to mentor and guide learners to achieve industry-recognised competencies.
Candidates must have a minimum of 9+ years of automotive industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Train and / or assess practical and theory-based automotive training sessions to apprentices and trainees on site in their workplace (or classroom if needed).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including, self-manage and schedule appointments (workplace visits) in an efficient timely manner.
Ability to use Student Management system (SMS) (eg aXcelerate) to schedule appointments, assess and record student results and update and record student notes / records regularly.
Ability to regularly monitor and maintain accurate student progress and training records such as Training Plan and Employer Resources Assessments (ERAs).
Guide, support and mentor students through online components of the course and well as give clear instruction and advice for practical tasks.
Assess learners against accredited units of competency.
Develop, adapt and provide feedback including moderation and validation of training materials to suit learner needs and industry standards.
Provide constructive feedback and support to students to ensure skill mastery.
Provide regular feedback to Employers on student progress.
Maintain good working relationships with all Employers (clients), students and stakeholders.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards including 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training is aligned with workforce needs.
Strong knowledge of modern automotive technologies and practices.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current driver's license. Additional trade licenses preferred, e.g., air conditioning, auto electrics, electric vehicles.
Previous training or teaching experience is required.
Vocational training experience is preferred over other forms of training or teaching experience.
NOTE: Company car, mobile and laptop available to suitable applicant.

AUR31120 (Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology) preferred
AUR30620 (Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology)
AUR30320 (Automotive Electrical Technology)
AUR31020 (Certificate III in Automotive Sales)
AUR40226 – (Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis)
AUR20720 (Automotive Vocational Preparation Certificate)
AUR20220 (Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology)
Possess the following vocational qualification:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or, must gain within 6 months of employment).
