Senior Accountant | Financial Services

Our client is a Sydney-based mid-tier Financial Services' institution with a strong balance sheet and a stable, high calibre finance team. The business offers highly competitive products to its ever-growing customer base. 

About the Role
This is an initial 3-month contract sitting inside a small, collaborative finance team and reporting to the Financial Controller. You'd support the statutory and management reporting alongside month-end close and reconciliations piece. 

The expectation is that you arrive with the technical capability to operate independently and add value from day one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge statutory reporting obligations in line with regulatory requirements, including APRA and relevant prudential standards;
• Own month end close, including detailed P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations across the business;
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the integrity of financial records and flagging issues proactively;
• Drive workpaper preparation and support continuous improvement across reporting processes and controls.

Ideal Background

• CA or CPA qualified;
• Solid financial accounting experience within banking, financial services or a similarly regulated environment;
• TechOne systems experience advantageous 
• Confident handling statutory reporting and familiar with prudential or regulatory obligations;
• Strong Excel capability
