About the Role

The Accounts Payable/Assistant Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day management of Hanleys' accounts payable function, keeping supplier accounts accurate, payments running on time, and financial records well maintained.

You'll work closely with our Accounts Receivable Officer and Admin Support staff, and liaise regularly with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams. Reporting to the Administration Manager and Directors, you'll have real ownership of the AP function within a business that values accuracy, accountability, and a collaborative approach.

Depending on your experience, there is also scope to take on additional responsibilities across pricing administration, stock management, and supplier rebate claims, with remuneration that reflects the broader contribution.

We’re a family business, and finding the right fit matters as much to us as finding the right experience. We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and brings a professional and approachable manner to the role.

Pay rate will be negotiated, commensurate with experience.

Hours & Flexibility

This is a permanent part-time role of approximately 25–28 hours per week. We're flexible on how those days and hours are structured; start and finish times can be arranged to suit your lifestyle. The ideal candidate would be able to provide coverage across 4 or 5 days of the working week.
